Hook - TMC101 - size 8 or 10 Thread - 8/0 white Tail - red fibres - feather or hair Wing - white calf tail Hackle - dark ginger Body - Dubbing - yellow and black
1. Coat hook with white thread. Tie in a few red fibres as a tail. 2. Tie calf tail wing in just behind the eye of the hook, dividing the wing into two. Wing length should be a little longer than the hook shaft. Tie in the remaining calf tail down to the bend of the hook as an underbody. 3. Run thread back up over the calf tail underbody to just below the wing and tie in the hackle dry fly style with the tip of the feather extending out ahead of the hook eye. 4. Move thread back down to the bend of the hook. Dub with yellow dubbing about 1/3 of the way up to the hackle. Then a few turns of black dubbing. Then another 1/3 of yellow dubbing. 5. Take three or so turns of hackle behind and through the calf tail wing and tie off.
