Yarn Damsel Nymph

Hook - scud hook or short shank nymph hook - sizes 8 - 12
Tail & Body - Antron yarn in olive
Thorax - size small Crystal Chenille - bright olive

1. Apply thread to hook from about two eye widths back from the hook eye to the bend of the hook.
2. Cut a piece of Antron yarn about 3 inches long.  Near one end of the yarn piece tie two half-hitch knots about 1/4 inch apart.  Trim the short end of the yarn piece to about 1/4 inch from the last knot.  Tease out the yarn fibres.  This will be the tail.
Tie the tail in so the second knot from the tail is just past the hook bend.  Both knots will be visible behind the body.
3.  Move the thread back up to where you started a little ways back from the hook eye.  Wrap the yarn up to form a slender body and tie off.
4. Tie in the Crystal Chenille and move the thread up to just behind the hook eye.  Make several wraps of chenille to form the thorax.  This should be thicker than the body.
5. Tie off and whipfinish.
